What will PBIS do for my school?
At CES, we offer guidance on implementing PBIS school-wide. While some may believe that PBIS is solely focused on discipline, the reality is that it aims to reduce the need for disciplinary action altogether. PBIS programs provide alternatives to punishment and promote positive behavior, encouraging students to meet expectations for conduct.
If a student needs to meet these expectations, PBIS offers a clear pathway for addressing and correcting problem behavior. By doing so, PBIS enables teachers and administrators to create a positive school climate and avoid the need for disciplinary action. Ultimately, PBIS is a tool that fosters a healthy learning community by preventing disciplinary issues and defining clear behavioral expectations.
